Change is good.

MPC reflects on a year of transformation—for the region and ourselves.

Chicago is a region that's constantly reinventing itself. From the Great Fire of 1871 to the Cubs curse, we have a knack for bouncing back stronger from the challenges that hobble us.

We're at a time when the region faces a lot of challenges. Fiscal crises, political tensions, poverty and segregation. And pretty soon some communities will have to start worrying about having enough clean water.

But there are also a lot of opportunities. And MPC is working every day to ensure that in 20, 30, 50 years, you and your children will live in an equitable, vibrant region bustling with life and economic vitality.

On her 20th anniversary at MPC, President MarySue Barrett reflects on the changes that have happened during her time at the helm.

In a city that's faced its share of crippling challenges, we here at MPC are confident that the Chicagoland of tomorrow is bigger, better, brighter and happier than ever.

Reflections on the future

(Relatively) new MPCer Janet Myers lays out why she's so excited about MPC's work.

Does planning matter? We think so!

At MPC, we believe every resident in Chicagoland—and in any region, for that matter—should have the opportunity to access the life they want to live. We work on issues like clean, plentiful water, easy transportation and safe, affordable places to call home so you don’t have to worry. We’ve been around for 82 years, and we’re planning right now for the next 82.

You read MPC's content because it resonates with your life. This year, take another step forward. Donate to MPC, and give yourself and your children the gift of a stronger, smarter, more beautiful place to call home.

Be part of the plan.
