How does your support build a better, bolder, more equitable Chicagoland?
In partnership with the Illinois Environmental Council, Natural Resources Defense Council, and other health equity advocates, the Lead Service Line Replacement and Notification Act (HB3739 Rep. Robinson/Sen. Bush) was signed by Governor Pritzker in August 2021. This is a major step for Illinois and a huge win for public health.
A 2014 Corridor Development Initiatve project is now coming to life 2021. The Logan Square neighborhood is making equitable transit-oriented development progress with a 100-unit affordable housing complex next to the Logan Square Blue Line Station, providing livability and accessibility for its community members.
The Alliance for the Great Lakes, with support from MPC and other community partners, launched the Calumet Connect Databook, a deep dive into Chicago's land use planning policies and how its decisions have disproportionately affected the health and well-being of Southeast side neighborhoods.
