Opportunity for Developers, Community Groups to Showcase Community Projects

The Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is now accepting applications for the Ninth Annual Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards.  The Awards recognize outstanding achievement in neighborhood real estate development and community building. Community development corporations (CDCs), other community-based organizations and for-profit developers will be recognized for working together to build healthier neighborhoods in the Chicago metropolitan area.  Applicants may choose to apply in four separate award categories depending upon their affiliation.  A panel of representatives will initially screen applications and judges from the for-profit and non-profit sectors will make site visits throughout October.  The Awards Committee will then select one winner for each of the four awards.

Winners will be notified in December, and an awards ceremony will be held at the Hyatt Regency Chicago on February 7, 2003.  Application deadline: Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, 5:00 p.m.
