Cast an informed vote with MPC's Election Guide

Free 10-page guide outlines challenges and potential solutions to key regional and statewide issues gaining traction as we head into 2006 election season.

With so much on the line in Illinois in the 2006 elections – including the governor’s office, two-thirds of the state Senate, and the entire House of Representatives – it’s critical that voters have the information they need to elect officials committed to shaping sound public policy and healthy, economically vibrant communities. That’s why MPC created this free 10-page Election Guide , which outlines challenges and potential solutions for regional and statewide issues gaining traction as we head into the election season: affordable and workforce housing, transportation priorities, education funding and tax reform, water quality and quantity, and eminent domain.

The guide also offers suggested questions on each topic that voters and reporters can use to test the mettle of candidates for local and statewide office. In addition, the guide lists local, state and national resources voters and reporters can tap to expand their knowledge of issues that will shape our region and state in years to come.

Should the contents of the guide spark questions, please contact MPC communications associate Mandy Burrell, at 312-863-6018 or mburrell@metroplanning.org .
