Each year GivingTuesday inspires hundreds of millions of people around the world to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Join the movement and give to MPC this GivingTuesday so you can make an impact in communities throughout the Chicago region!

The Chicago region currently stands at a critical crossroads, grappling with a multitude of pressing challenges that affect us all. From affordable housing to sustainable transportation to public systems that work for everyone, these are the very real problems we face. Disparities within our communities continue to widen, underscoring the urgency of addressing these issues.

Your support is the key to unlocking solutions. With your generosity, MPC stands ready to tackle these pressing built environment issues. Our unique blend of technical expertise and in-depth understanding of our region's most crucial matters empowers us to make a tangible difference, all with a sharp focus on equity.

MPC's work is grounded in three overarching pillars: Thriving Communities, Equitable Infrastructure, and Just Public Systems. These pillars serve as the guiding principles and foundation for MPC’s work, forming the bedrock of our mission to foster a more equitable and just society.

Please consider supporting MPC’s important work within the following three pillars:

Thriving Communities

Contribute to MPC’s initiatives that are committed to ensuring all communities have equitable opportunities needed to thrive, including accessible and affordable housing.

Your support of Thriving Communities will move forward the work MPC is doing to address the homeownership gap through Change Lab, a proprietary training program. Change Lab brings together a cohort of community development organizations, financial institutions, and housing counseling agencies to improve lending products for Black and Latino communities.

Equitable Infrastructure

You can help MPC’s efforts to promote fair distribution of infrastructure investments, including the advancement of sustainable transportation policies.

A commitment to Equitable Infrastructure will help MPC as we work to advance sustainable transportation policy and support our transit system as it faces a significant fiscal deficit. Our work will continue through broad and diverse coalitions, collaborating directly with local organizations, residents, and policymakers, ensuring that equitable solutions take root for sustainable transportation in the Chicago region.

Just Public Systems

Consider supporting MPC’s pursuit of transparency, fairness, and accessible government, including addressing and assessing the significant impacts of zoning and land use policies.

You can help further MPC’s Zoning and Land Use Assessment project, aiding in the development of a shared understanding regarding the impact of zoning and land use on equity, sustainability, and public health within our communities. MPC research will evaluate the current zoning code to determine impacts on public health, BIPOC populations, and the environment, while developing a more equitable process for future changes and updates.
