Better Commutes, Less Congestion: Employers Unlock the Region's Gridlock

On Dec. 1, 2011, MPC hosted Better Commutes, Less Congestion: Employers Unlock the Region's Gridlock, a roundtable discussion of the Commute Options pilot program. Jeffrey Rehm of W.W. Suzanne Carlson of Chicago Public Schools (CPS) detailed efforts to implement Commute Options at three CPS schools, and pointed out some of the challenges discovered thus far. Gabe Klein, commissioner of Chicago Dept. of Transportation, outlined various steps the City is taking to enhance the pedestrian, cycling, and transit facilities for commuting.
