Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and the MPC staff will be enjoying a couple of days off on Thursday and Friday to unwind, feast with friends and family, and reflect on what a truly great year it's been.
Around here, we have much to give thanks for. In January, we moved into a beautiful new office in the Marquette Building, 140 S. Dearborn, where we have fantastic neighbors and a birdseye view of all the action at Federal Plaza.
During the Illinois General Assembly's spring legislative session, we secured a win for water use data and helped advance support for state transportation investment criteria -- which we'll renew the fight for in February when Springfield is back in business.
Our Annual Luncheon in September, which featured top White House officials, was a smashing success, attracting record numbers of attendees. The event also directed Washington's attention to several models in metropolitan Chicago worth exploring and supporting with federal policy reforms and investments.
And you're looking at our new web site, which we launched in October and are working to perfect a little more each day.
This season, we hope you'll take a moment to reflect on your own successes, both personal and professional. Happy Thanksgiving, and "see you Monday!"
