Redmoon Theatre celebrates the holiday season at the Polish Triangle

What would you like to see at the Polish Triangle?

Earlier this year, MPC and WPB, the Special Service Area for the Wicker Park and Bucktown neighborhoods, asked more than 700 residents about their ideas for the Polish Triangle, located at the intersection of Division Street and Ashland and Milwaukee avenues, and were rewarded with hundreds of creative recommendations.  Of these ideas, one thing rang loud and clear: People want to activate the space.

WPB has taken this advice to heart, first planning a Halloween event with the award-winning Collaboraction Theatre company, and now hosting a holiday event featuring Redmoon Theatre.  The event will start at the Polish Triangle at noon on Dec. 5, and will process through the neighborhood, making stops at several businesses along Division Street in Wicker Park.  This event is open to the public.

This event is just one of the ways WPB, MPC, and a steering committee of local aldermen, community groups, and residents are working to improve the Polish Triangle.  Ald. Flores' is organizing a volunteer cleaning crew to keep the Triangle looking clean and inviting; WPB installed holiday lights in the trees on the Triangle to brighten the dark winter nights; and MPC is preparing a report to guide future planning efforts for the Triangle, which will be released in early 2010.
