I'm Stuck App
Feel like venting your commuting woes directly to your representatives in Congress?
Now there’s a way! “I’m Stuck” is a new, free mobile app created by national advocacy group Building America’s Future that allows you to report your transportation frustrations directly to the troublesome area’s U.S. House member and two Senators.
The app prompts the user to select the specific faulty mode of transportation, and provides a pre-written message to be sent via email. There is also an option to take a picture of the offense and to include a personal message about the problem. The report can be sent in by the user without having to research where to send the complaint—the app does all the work.
Building America’s Future is a bipartisan organization composed of current and former local and state elected officials and co-chaired by former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Using creative approaches like the “I’m Stuck!” app, the group is rallying public support for increased investment to modernize transportation and infrastructure in the United States.
Recently Gov. Rendell told the Chicago Tribune, “Everyone in Washington, including tea party members and conservative Republicans, has said that they believe infrastructure spending is the most important thing we can do, after defense. But nobody is willing to pull the trigger to fund it.”
It is his hope that the torrent of “I’m Stuck” emails that are sure to come flooding in from frustrated commuters will provide the “permission slip” elected officials need to spend taxpayer dollars updating crumbling infrastructure.
The free “I’m Stuck” app is available for both Android and Apple devices at bafuture.org.
