Biking to work is one way to celebrate Car Free Week.
To encourage commuters to consider alternatives to driving alone, the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) and the Active Transportation Alliance are sponsoring this year's Car Free Week, which runs from September 22-28. The theme of this year's campaign is "Don't Sit in Traffic-Join the Movement."
World Car Free Day is Sunday, September 22. Since 2009, RTA and the Active Transportation Alliance have been involved in this effort to encourage area commuters to consider alternatives to driving alone.
