MPC urges a "no" vote on Joliet Herald-News public poll on Illiana Expressway

The Joliet Herald-News, a Chicago Sun-Times publication, has asked their readers "Do you think the state should move forward with the proposed Illiana Expressway?" via a public opinion poll.

Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC) opposes the Illiana for several key reasons, and urges a "no" vote on the Herald-News poll. Both Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and MPC analysis of the data suggest that other projects at a lower cost would provide greater benefits. Please join us in making a statement against the Illiana Expressway.
