Transform Illinois focuses on government streamlining

Statewide coalition features conference, “Transformer Awards” for excellence in government efficiency

(Chicago) ... DuPage County Chairman Dan Cronin joins the Metropolitan Planning Council, Better Government Association, The Taxpayers' Federation of Illinois, Illinois Chamber of Commerce, Illinois Campaign for Political Reform and others as it announces a new coalition called “Transform Illinois.”  This non-partisan collaborative of public officials, civic leaders and research institutions is committed to promoting and supporting local government efficiency across the state.The group kicks off with a conference called “The Efficiency Advantage: Stories of Collaboration and Innovation,” featuring speakers including Lt. Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, DuPage County Chairman Cronin, Lake County Chairman Aaron Lawlor and Illinois Sen. Linda Holmes. Speakers will discuss successes and roadblocks to consolidation and collaboration within government.  Additionally, the Transform Illinois coalition will announce winners of its First Annual “Transformer” awards to lawmakers, government officials and citizens who have led efforts to streamline local government across Illinois.

WHERE: University of Illinois, Student Center East, 750 S. Halsted St., 3rd Floor, Illinois A & B, Chicago

Note: Parking is available at UIC's parking structure, at 760 W. Taylor St.
