(Springfield ...) Transform Illinois will highlight a group of bills designed to reduce the size, scope and cost of local government. Transform Illinois is a statewide collaborative of civic organizations, elected officials and research institutions dedicated to promoting local government efficiency. The group will host a news conference in Springfield on Wednesday, April 6, 11:30 a.m., to call attention to 22 bills, sponsored by both Republican and Democratic legislators. The bills would give local officials and voters the tools needed to modernize and streamline local governments throughout the state.
