Northeastern Illinois isn't immune to water supply constraints.
As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring northeastern Illinois has a safe and reliable water supply, Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC) helps facilitate the Northwest Water Planning Alliance. The alliance was born of an intergovernmental agreement established in 2010, and represents five councils of government, approximately 80 communities, five counties (DeKalb, Kane, Kendall, Lake and McHenry), and encompasses more than 1.3 million people. The alliance's overarching goal is to provide a sustainable water supply for this area that is both economically and environmentally sound.
The content we write for Northwest Water Planning Alliance newsletters often appeals to the MPC audience as well, so from time to time we’ll be cross-posting this content on our own site.
