Is Illinois managing its water supply properly? With Lake Michigan next door, it appears that Chicagoland enjoys an endless supply of freshwater. But our location feeds a myth of abundance. Many area residents rely on quickly depleting groundwater aquifers, and our ability to tap Lake Michigan is limited. Our drinking water pipes leak and, in some places, they're still made of wood! Manager Danielle Gallet discussed these issues with WGN Radio's Justin Kaufmann on Thursday, August 24.
