The COVID-19 pandemic is causing everyone to stop, step back and reflect on the trends we have been experiencing. Now is a time for planners to think about how we can emerge from this crisis stronger and on a more sustainable path.

Join us for this event and two related events on May 12th, and May 19th about how to ensure Illinois’ water resilience, now and post-COVID-19.

COVID-19 has shown us how important water is to our well-being. But it’s also highlighted that clean, safe, affordable water is not a given for everyone. That needs to change. State and federal stimulus and economic recovery plans should include investments in water resources, infrastructure, and management. Key investments—such as eliminating lead drinking water pipes—not only will ensure our water systems are resilient, but also have great potential to create good jobs.

Join the Metropolitan Planning Council, Natural Resources Defense Council, and Elevate Energy on May 5th to discuss how water fits into stimulus and recovery efforts, and how Illinois can leverage these opportunities to maintain its water assets today and for future generations.

Registration is required. Event link will be included in your registration confirmation, please note you must be logged into your Eventbrite account to access link.
