At MPC’s Annual Luncheon on Wednesday, September 12, we will feature a celebrated museum director as well as one of our nation’s most successful entrepreneurs.

Our keynote speaker, Lonnie G. Bunch III, founding director of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture and former president and director of the Chicago History Museum, will discuss how history and culture are essential to a vibrant community and healthy economy.

Lonnie will be joined in conversation with Joy Bivins, chief curator of the International African American Museum, which opens in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2020.

We will also honor Patrick G. Ryan, Chairman & CEO of Ryan Specialty Group, with the 2018 Champion Fighter Award for his extraordinary civic leadership.

Join us for a conversation about creativity, community development and carving a unique path.

Sponsorships are available! For more information, contact Janet Myers, Vice President of Philanthropy, at jmyers@metroplanning.org or 312.863.6010.
