Peter Calthorpe will discuss his new book, Urbanism in the Age of Climate Change. The lecture will be followed by a book signing and reception.

In his groundbreaking new work, Calthorpe shows how sustainable urbanism—community design that considers the traditional tenets of urbanism, with an added emphasis on conservation and regionalism—is essential to addressing climate change. He demonstrates that it will take an integrated approach of land use transformation, policy changes, and conservation to transition to a low carbon economy.

Co-sponsors of this event include Center for Neighborhood Technology, Chicago Architecture Foundation, Metropolitan Planning Council, Metropolis Strategies, Congress for the New Urbanism, Openlands, and Environmental Law and Policy Center.

Space is limited. RSVP to kathrine@cnt.org or (773) 269-4031.
