MPC's Abby Crisostomo will present on “Demand controls: Lawn watering ordinances that restrict peak demands.”

A one day workshop that looks at the impacts of the 2012 drought on water systems in Illinois.  The workshop will focus on the supply and demand balancing act experienced by water suppliers during the current drought conditions.  Representatives from ISWS, USGS and IEPA will present rainfall, stream flow and groundwater level trends that compare this drought with previous ones.  Water utility representatives will present case studies of how the drought has impacted their systems, both from a demand standpoint and the impacts on supply.  Potential solutions to dealing with the effects of the drought conditions will be discussed in the afternoon session.
