The South Suburban Mayors and Managers Association (SSMMA) municipalities and partners including Center for Neighborhood Technology, Chicago Community Loan Fund, Enterprise Community Partners and Metropolitan Planning Council are pleased to invite you to a half-day event designed for developers interested in learning about near-term development opportunities in Chicago’s Southland. Participants will hear the latest news about funding opportunities and initiatives focused on promoting coordinated, quality investment in Chicago’s Southland, an area with strong transit and rail connectivity.
Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle will present the keynote address on the future of Cook County’s economic development initiatives and the BUILT in Cook Loan Fund. Additional presentations will feature some of the key assets of the Southland area, benefits of transit oriented developments, and specific tools available to spur development. Among the tools that will be highlighted will be the Southland Community Development Loan Fund and the South Suburban Land Bank, as well as how developers can utilize SSMMA’s Atlas tool to assess local market area and potential development opportunities. Municipalities will present potential development sites and discuss their communities’ priorities and available resources.
Come discover what opportunities are awaiting you to develop housing, retail and mixed-use projects in Chicago’s Southland!
Please note that registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., and breakfast will be provided. The event is free, but registration is required. Please email Breann Gala or Yonah Freemark for more information or call 312.863.6029.
