GreenTown Chicago is designed to bring both the public and private sectors together to enact measurable change for a more sustainable Chicago. Two MPC staff members will take part in two separate events at the conference:

Sustainability Leaders Panel, 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.

Join MPC President MarySue Barrett and three other leading sustainability experts for the Sustainability Leaders Panel themed, "Divergent Missions, Convergent Strategies: Breaking through Silos to Create Smart, Sustainable and Healthy Communities." The panelists, representing the public and private sectors, will discuss current success stories that cross sectors, challenges facing the region, and will share their insights on what future regional investments should look like.

Sustainability Leaders Panel Moderator and Panelists include:

  • Will Allen, Co-founder, Growing Power
  • Mary Sue Barrett, Executive Director, Metropolitan Planning Council
  • Gordon Gill, Co-founder, Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture
  • Dr. Ann P. Kalayil, Regional Administrator, Government Services Administration for the Great Lakes
  • David Pope, Former Mayor, Village of Oak Park

Five-Minute Regional Snapshots, 10:30 to 11 a.m.

Join MPC Project Manager Abby Crisostomo and three other regional sustainability specialists for the Morning Plenary Five-Minute Regional Snapshots. The speakers will provide snapshots of their work in the areas of transportation, stormwater management and sustainable city planning.
