MPC Program Director Josh Ellis will speak at this event.
The U.S. is the world's largest market for water-related technologies and products and accounts for 20 percent of the world-wide water sector. Furthermore, the U.S. contributes more than 24 percent of all patents in the global water sector. At the same time, the U.S. is currently facing major water challenges such as increasing water scarcity, aging infrastructure, and a lack of governmental funding. These challenges, combined with the implementation of stricter environmental regulations and an increasing awareness of the value of water resources in the U.S., generate major market opportunities in this sector.

This conference, hosted by the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest, Inc., will introduce you to cutting-edge technologies and sustainable solutions for the water sector. Speakers include representatives from German companies in the water sector as well as U.S. and German expert speakers:

  • Friedrich Barth, Managing Director, German Water Partnership
  • William Sarni, Director and Practice Leader, Enterprise Water Strategy, Deloitte Consulting LLP
  • Mariyana T. Spyropoulos, Commissioner Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD)
  • Josh Ellis, Program Director, Metropolitan Planning Council
  • Marcia T. Willhite, Chief, Bureau of Water, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency
