MPC Director Alden Loury will speak at this event.
How should public schools change alongside the neighborhoods they serve?
In this free, interactive program, we’ll talk about how demographic shifts impact both the content and quality of public education—asking if all students in schools with diverse student bodies are receiving the same quality of education.
Join us for a program about demographic change in Chicago public schools, modeled after a school day. Simone Ispa-Landa of Northwestern University will be joined by Alden Loury of Metropolitan Planning Council, Fighting Youth Shouting out for Humanity (FYSH) student group and a student from Kelly High School in this interactive program to discuss demographic change at Senn High School.
Finally, participants will gather for a school assembly where everyone will have a chance to share their voice and discuss the future of education in Chicago - complete with a presentation from Senn's digital journalism program.
