By understanding local housing submarkets, communities can develop more targeted and effective approaches to meet local housing needs. You are invited to a workshop on July 27 to learn more about Regional Housing Solutions, a collaborative project to help municipal officials and policy makers understand local housing submarkets, identify where common housing challenges exist in the region and determine the best strategies to address these challenges.
At this event, you’ll learn about a new study that reveals eight distinct housing submarkets across metropolitan Chicago, which share similar characteristics regardless of their physical proximity: housing stock and affordability, housing market activity, resident demographics and socioeconomic indicators. You’ll have the opportunity to identify which submarkets exist in your community, by trying out a new interactive tool that highlights submarkets and relevant solutions. And you’ll have the chance to discuss your communities’ housing challenges and opportunities with peers from relevant housing submarkets, as well as with housing experts.
