Join fellow community members and a team of development professionals for the second in a series of three Corridor Development Initiative meetings for the property at 6300 S. Cottage Grove Ave. Get all the details and updates here.

The Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC), in partnership with the Cook County Land Bank Authority, is coordinating and facilitating a series of three workshops in Woodlawn that will get resident input for the redevelopment of the vacant building. Earlier this year, the Cook County Land Bank acquired this property through the scavenger sale.

At this second meeting, community members will explore economic and design options for their community through a hands-on block exercise. Residents will create hypothetical development options for three sites using various wooden blocks that represent retail and housing units. As community members build their proposals, they will be sketched by design advisors, while a real estate advisor calculates development costs and revenues.

This event follows the first meeting on Jan. 30 and will be followed by the third on Feb. 20Each meeting builds on the one before, so we strongly encourage you to attend all three.

MPC thanks our partners at the Cook County Land Bank Authority and the Chicago Park District for helping us make this initiative possible.

MPC thanks its funders who generously support this work.
