MPC's Robin Snyderman will be participating in the panel discussion following the release, to discuss the Regional Housing Initiative and other practical solutions for addressing the challenges identified in the IHARP report.

Housing Action Illinois, the Nathalie P. Voorhees Center for Neighborhood and Community Improvement, University of Illinois at Chicago, and the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law invite you to the release of Moving or Moving Up? Understanding Residential Mobility for Housing Choice Voucher Families in Illinois, an IHARP report that examines the portability of Housing Choice Voucher recipients in Illinois from 2000 to 2007.

Following the release, there will be a panel discussion on the current landscape for the Housing Choice Voucher program and portability, as well as a period for open discussion.

Finally, the Expanding Choice and Opportunity Initiative will be introduced, an initiative to implement concrete recommendations for the improvement of how the Housing Choice Voucher program is administered and delivered, specifically in the Chicago metropolitan region, in order to help lower income families access housing near opportunities for employment and good schools in the region.

This event is free of charge.

Please RSVP to info@housingactionil.org no later than Tuesday April 5th.
