MPC's Josh Ellis will speak at this event about climate change mitigation strategies.

The Chicago River Summit, founded in 2004 in partnership with Gov. Pat Quinn, is an annual event that focuses on identifying sustainable solutions for the issues that impact the Chicago River.

  • Learn about the innovative and collaborative ways the Greater Milwaukee region manages water from keynote speaker Kevin Shafer, executive director of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.
  • Understand how we can mitigate the effects of climate change throughout the Illinois River watershed from the Office of the Lt. Governor and the Illinois River Coordinating Council.
  • Participate in discussions and ask questions about how groups and businesses like the Metropolitan Planning Council and WRD Environmental work to make a positive impact on changes related to climate change.

Register now, or contact Kim Rice, of Friends of the Chicago River, at (312) 939-0490, ext. 15, for more information. Registration is $20 in advance, $25 at the event. Space is limited to the first 150 registrants.
