States like Oregon are turning to the use of mileage-based user feesa pay-by-mile, road-user charge that helps fund transportation infrastructure and maintenance. But is it possible here in Illinois?

Join the Metropolitan Planning Council for a discussion with Maureen Bock, who has managed multiple phases of mileage-based user fee (MBUF) pilots in Oregon, and Nate Bryer, the Vice President of Innovation for Azuga—the leading GPS and fleet tracking data company that's providing the technology for multiple mileage-based user fee programs. The firm’s technology has been used in the I-95 Corridor Coalition’s test of MBUF in Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania, as well as Oregon and Colorado. Learn about how the pilots were launched, the options available for collection of data and revenue, and how things are actually working in other states.

Roundtable Panelists:

  • Maureen Bock, OReGO Program Manager, Oregon Department of Transportation
  • Nate Bryer, Vice President of Innovation, Azuga
  • Audrey Wennink, Director of Transportation, Metropolitan Planning Council
  • Moderated by David Schaper, Correspondent, Chicago Bureau, NPR
