Chicago has it all: architectural gems, a beautiful lakefront, abundant fresh water, an excellent transit system, top-tier universities and museums, relative affordability… The list goes on and on. Despite these attributes, last year Chicago experienced the greatest population loss of any metropolitan area in the country—6,263 residents! In 2015, Cook County lost population for the first time since 2007.
What can we learn from growing cities, including Minneapolis, our booming Midwestern neighbor? On July 14, join Susan Haigh, former chair of the Twin Cities' Metropolitan Council and president and CEO of Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, to discuss how her region coordinates housing, transit, clean water and park investments to increase equity and economic growth.
The program will begin at 5:30 p.m., with time to mingle before and after. The cost of the event is $15 and includes light refreshments. Seating is limited, so please register in advance.
