Over the past few years, longstanding inequities in Chicago were exacerbated as we navigated the unique turmoil of our world. From health disparities to the wealth gap— Chicago’s vulnerable populations were hardest-hit. As Chicago looks to build back better, organizations like the Metropolitan Planning Council are at the helm of shaping a better, bolder, and more equitable region for all Chicago’s residents. MPC works with governments, businesses, and advocacy groups to promote racially equitable and environmentally sustainable planning and policy solutions.

In January, the Metropolitan Planning Council selected Darlene Oliver Hightower as President & CEO. Hightower, the first Black CEO of the 88-year-old establishment brings more than two decades of experience in leading civic organizations to the team. This year, MPC outlined its 2022 Policy Priorities list, focusing on expanding affordable housing, protecting at-risk residents, equitable transportation, access to safe and affordable drinking water, and creating jobs and building wealth for low-income Chicagoans.

Join us as Darlene shares not only her vision for the future of Chicago but data-driven metrics that show the benefits of strong economic vitality in all of Chicago’s 77 neighborhoods— a mission that will take the work and support of the entire community.

This event is open only to members of The Executives' Club of Chicago. Their Chicago Coffee & Connect Series is an exclusive opportunity for members to speak candidly with other Chicago business leaders in an intimate and interactive format. We encourage you to engage fully by being present with your video on, coming prepared with questions and ready to interact with other members of the Exec Club in curated breakout sessions.
