MPC in Springfield: Public-private partnerships bill passes Senate Executive Committee

Last Friday, I celebrated with my colleagues at MPC when the Illinois Senate Executive Committee approved the Public-Private Partnerships for Transportation Act (SB 3482). The bill is now headed to the Senate floor for a full vote on or before March 19.

MPC strongly supports this bill, which promotes the sound development and operation of new transportation infrastructure projects and lease of existing infrastructure assets. Most importantly, the bill would establish standards for public-private partnerships, including a transparent process and a promise to invest funds back into our transportation system.

Learn more about the benefits of well-planned public private partnerships, and please feel free to contact me at pskosey@metroplanning.org for information about how you can help support SB 3482.
