MPC’s 2013 Annual Luncheon: The recap

Karen Kring

Margo Georgiadis speaks on the power of technology at MPC's 2013 Annual Luncheon, "Accelerating Change"

MPC's 2013 Annual Luncheon, Accelerating Change, featured an inspiring keynote address by Margo Georgiadis on how technology helps governments and community leaders overcome obstacles and prepare for challenges, all while better connecting to their audiences.

MPC also awarded the 2013 Burnham Award for Excellence in Planning to the Chicago Dept. of Cultural Affairs and Special Events for the Chicago Cultural Plan 2012, and the Champion Fighter Award to Andrew J. McKenna.

For a broad range of insights on technology’s role in improving our systems and our region as a whole, check out our Accelerating Change blog series, featuring posts by John Tolva, former chief technology officer for Chicago and the moderator for our Luncheon; Cook County Commissioner Bridget Gainer, who has spear-headed the land bank efforts across our region; McGee Young, creator of H2OScore; and our own MPC staff.

Thank you to everyone who made our 2013 Annual Luncheon a success!
