What?
The renovation of the CTA Blue Line Station at Logan Square offers the opportunity to reenvision the plaza, bus turnaround and nearby parking lot above.

The Metropolitan Planning Council is partnering with the office of Ald. Rey Colon (35th Ward) to host a series of public workshops about the future of an important site just above the Logan Square CTA station. Community members will work hands-on with a team of development professionals to craft specific, realistic, community-based proposals. One of the workshops will include a block exercise where community members build their vision on top of a map, and then receive feedback from developers on the feasibility of their ideas.
The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has begun a renovation of the O'Hare Branch of the Blue Line, a $492 million project that will speed commutes and improve reliability. At Logan Square, CTA is planning to upgrade the entrances to the stations. In association with the Chicago Department of Planning and Development as well as the Chicago Department of Transportation, CTA is considering allowing transit-oriented development on the current site of the plaza at the intersection of Milwaukee and Kedzie Avenues, as well as the adjacent parking lot at Emmett Street and Kedzie Avenue. A request for proposals (RFP) or request for qualifications (RFQ) for these sites will be released in the coming years.
