MPC's agenda to make the Chicago region a better place to live and work is aided by our esteemed Board of Governors.
(Chicago) … The Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC)—a nonprofit that helps governments, businesses and communities develop solutions to meet metropolitan Chicago's pressing needs so that everyone who lives and works here can thrive—has elected three new members to its Board of Governors.
MPC’s Board is comprised of business and community leaders who lend their expertise and influence to advance the organization’s priorities. In 2016, MPC priorities include the release of a vision and action agenda for Chicago’s three rivers; advocacy for a reliable revenue source for statewide transportation infrastructure needs; a study, in partnership with Urban Institute, on the cost of segregation to us all; and research, legislative advocacy and direct assistance to communities to help local governments be more efficient.
The new MPC Board of Governors members are:
Jessica Droste Yagan, CEO, Impact Engine. Impact Engine is a fund that invests in early-stage businesses solving social and environmental challenges and runs an impact investor network. Droste Yagan’s role at Impact Engine builds on a career of leveraging private markets for positive social impact, including most recently leading sustainable sourcing for McDonald’s Corporation. Droste Yagan is an impact angel investor and is also on the Boards of Piece & Co., Social Venture Partners Chicago, OneGoal Chicago, and The Honeycomb Project.
Andy Hesselbach, Vice President – Construction, Peoples Gas. Andy Hesselbach is responsible for the planning, design, engineering, permitting and execution of Peoples Gas construction projects, including its multi-year Accelerated Main Replacement Program (AMRP). Since 2002, Hesselbach has worked in the development, design, permitting, engineering, construction and overall management of more than $3.6 billion in energy infrastructure projects for Milwaukee-based We Energies. He has extensive experience negotiating arrangements with various government agencies,
large consumer groups and local community associations.
Matthew Moog, CEO, PowerReviews. Matt Moog has more than 20 years of experience scaling technology companies, both public and private. Moog is passionate about entrepreneurism and the transformative role that technology, data and design can play in our lives, especially when it allows people to share their experiences and brings transparency and accountability to all facets of life.
“Our partnerships with businesses, communities and governments are what make MPC such an effective organization,” said MPC President MarySue Barrett. “We look to our talented volunteers to help us connect the dots between regional needs, challenges and solutions. We are pleased to be working with new Board members Andy, Matt and Jessica in 2016 and beyond.”
