HousingPolicy.org, the Center for Housing Policy's online guide to state and local housing policy, features a helpful toolkit on employer-assisted housing this month. The toolkit includes:
- A podcast interview with Connie Ealey, Residential Assistance Coordinator at Funding Partners for Housing Solutions, a Colorado nonprofit that runs a number of employer-assisted housing programs for partner companies and communities;
- Information about Delaware's Live Near Your Work program, which provides matching funds to help employees buy homes near work;
- PowerPoints, videos, and more from the series of Bring Workers Home workforce housing forums, held in Atlanta, Austin, Minneapolis, and Honolulu; and
- Many more resources, including case studies from Illinois and other states, a podcast on EAH benefits featuring MPC's Robin Snyderman, and model initiatives.
MPC works closely with the National Housing Conference and Center for Housing Policy, including advocating for stronger housing, transportation, and workforce policy linkages; supporting incentives for employer-assisted housing and employer engagement in local planning efforts; and participating in workforce housing forums.
MPC also helps organizations, communities, and employers design and implement employer-assisted housing programs to meet their needs. More information is available at www.reachillinois.org, or you can e-mail me at sdekoven@metroplanning.org.
