Wentworth Commons, Chicago
Wentworth Commons, located in Chicago’s Roseland neighborhood, is a beautiful, 51-unit supportive housing development dedicated to assisting individuals and households who are formerly homeless and at-risk of homelessness. The development is renowned for its incorporation of sustainable design features, including rooftop solar panels, renewable wall panels, and native landscaping, and was a Maxwell Awards of Excellence Finalist in 2007. Wentworth contains studios, one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes and is bike-friendly and served by two major bus lines. Additionally, the facility provides supportive services, after-school programming, technology training, job training, retention and placement services, and peer discussion groups.
Country Club Hills Wellness Center, Country Club Hills
This new construction, five-story elevator building will host 77 supportive, affordable housing opportunities with 83 parking spaces. The development is for homeless and formerly homeless individuals and families.To determine if you are eligible please see the attached chart that details the federal homeless definition. Country Club Hills will be available for households in July 2012 so please see the attached document for more details.
The building will have two wings separated by a common space. One wing will house 20 two-bedroom units for families with children, and the other will house 57 studio and one-bedroom apartments. Conveniently located on 167th Street between I-57 and I-80, the apartments are serviced by PACE buses along 167th. All units have new Energy Star appliances, and laundry facilities are located on each floor. South Suburban PADS will operate case management offices on site to provide job readiness and training services and health care referrals.
Casa Kirk, Chicago
Managed by Claretian Associates, Casa Kirk offers 29 two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments on E. 92nd Street between S. Burley and S. Buffalo. Each apartment has a large porch, central air conditioning, free parking, free heat, and on-site management and social services. The development is just steps from the South Shore Metra 93rd Street station, and is easily accessible from both I-90 and Highway 41. Casa Kirk is a smoke-free development and operates a tobacco education and support program, as well as a leadership development program, for all tenants.
Casa Morelos, Chicago
Casa Morelos, conveniently located at 2015 S. Morgan in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago, offers 45 one-, two- and three-bedroom homes with free heat and cooking gas in its innovative building design. The development features a green roof system and is conveniently located near health care, transportation and multiple entertainment options, including the public pool at Dvorak Park. Whistler Crossing, Riverdale
Whistler Crossing, located at S. Halsted and 138th Streets in Riverdale, was a townhome renovation development that features a myriad of green amenities, including rain gardens, reflective roofs, and native vegetation. Each two-story townhome, with two- or three-bedrooms and 1.5 baths, has two parking spaces, in-unit washer and dryer, a private deck or patio and a large back yard. Families will have access to two Pace Bus lines, and two Metra Stations are approximately one mile away. Whistler Crossing is part of an exciting, larger redevelopment project that will renovate and attract both residential and commercial activity to Riverdale.
